A DEGREE OF ADVANCED KNOWLEDGE

The Master′s Degrees aim to equip the student for their full-time involvement in the local church or ministry. Students have the option choosing their preferred track between Christian Theology and Pastoral Ministry.

LICU offers Master′s Degrees in the following fields of study:

Master of Arts in Christian Theology

The Master′s track in Christian Theology majors on developing the student′s training and deepening their knowledge and understanding of the Bible and Theology.

Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry

The Master′s track in Pastoral Ministry is designed for full time pastors looking to develop their skills and effectiveness of pastoral ministry.

In order to qualify for a Master′s Degree, students have to complete a total of 36 graduate credit hours.

The credit hour requirement may be fulfilled by taking 9 courses (worth 3 credits each), fulfilling a Ministry Practicum within their local church by serving at least 160 hours (more information may be found in the Student′s Handbook) and submitting a Master Thesis, worth 6 credits (for more information please refer to our Writing Requirements section or the Student′s Handbook).

Definition: A master′s degree is an academic degree granted to individuals who have undergone study demonstrating a mastery or high-order overview of a specific field of study or area of professional practice. Within the area studied, graduates are posited to possess advanced knowledge of a specialized body of theoretical and applied topics; high order skills in analysis, critical evaluation and/or professional application; and the ability to solve complex problems and think rigorously and independently.
